Introducing Scott Stara

Students have been meeting our new faculty and our SkyHawk Spotlights will introduce our newest family members to the community. Today, we introduce Scott Stara.

SCOTT STARA – MATH

Scott Stara is a new math teacher at Skutt Catholic. In this role, he will be teaching Algebra I and Algebra II.

A FEW THINGS:

Scott was raised in Ulysses, Nebraska and graduated from Aquinas Catholic High School in David City in 2002.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master’s of education degree in leadership, teaching and learning from Midland University.

Prior to joining Skutt Catholic, Scott taught at Mercy High School for 15 years and Bennington High School for two years.

IN HIS OWN WORDS:

“I became a teacher because I had great teachers in high school and I was inspired by their dedication and love for their jobs.”

“I am excited to be back in a Catholic environment and be able to have my faith be part of my job every day.”

FUN FACT:

Scott has traveled to the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Italy.
