Introducing Leigh Officer

To kick off the 2021-2022 school year our SkyHawk Spotlights will introduce our newest family members to the community. Today, we introduce Leigh Officer.

LEIGH OFFICER – FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Leigh Officer is one of our our new foreign language teachers at Skutt Catholic. She will be teaching Spanish I and Spanish II.

A FEW THINGS:

Leigh graduated from Millard North High School in 1987.

She went to Augustana College in South Dakota where she graduated with secondary education endorsements in English and Spanish.

She went on to get a master’s degree in counseling from Creighton in 1996 and a master’s degree in sport and performance psychology from National University in 2021.

She has  taught and coached in Millard and Bellevue Public Schools as well as at Creighton University and College of Saint Mary.

IN HER OWN WORDS:

“I mostly grew up in Millard where my amazing teachers  — like Kelly and Terry Thielen and Leon May — and administrators inspired me to become a teacher.”

“ I am super grateful to be at Skutt Catholic to work with an amazing staff and to empower young people to do great things.”

FUN FACT:

Leigh’s son is Mr. Cal Koch, Skutt Catholic chemistry teacher and assistant baseball and basketball coach.
