Catholic Schools Week 2021 – Seminarian Check-In

In celebration of Catholic Schools Week 2021, we checked in with our three seminarians to hear what they had to say about Catholic education  Today, we hear from Matthew Pohlman ‘16, who is in his first year of Theology studies at the Pontifical North American College in Rome.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A PRIEST?

As a kid, learning about the life of St. John Paul II and his heroism inspired me to consider a vocation to the priesthood.

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS…

Catholic schools provide a vision for studies and activities in which Jesus Christ is always at the foundation. The Catholic education I received allowed me to embrace the integrated worldview that the Faith teaches.

FAVORITE SKUTT CATHOLIC MEMORY

My favorite memory as a SkyHawk is Vivace competing in finals of a show choir competition in Iowa. It was special to win that whole competition, but the memory I cherish most is performing with my best friends, knowing that we left our best onstage.
