ALUMNA OF THE YEAR 2026: CHRISTINE FRENCH ’06

At the recent Light of Leadership Mass, Skutt Catholic proudly named Christine French ‘06 as the 2025-2026 Outstanding Alumna. This award recognizes graduates who embody the school’s mission to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
From Student Leader to Spiritual Mother
As a student, Christine was a force of nature—involved in everything from tennis to theater and even co-founding the school’s first mock trial team. Her journey after graduation took her from The George Washington University to a teaching position on the Rosebud Reservation, where she discovered a deep calling for a faith rooted in intentionality and prayer.
A Legacy of Faith at Skutt Catholic
When Christine returned to her alma mater as Campus Minister, she brought a vision for spiritual transformation. As an Apostolic Oblate, she has spent years fostering a culture of holiness on campus. Her leadership has been instrumental in launching several cornerstone programs:
-
Student-Led Traditions: Theology Thursday, Living Stations of the Cross, and the Angels women’s retreat.
-
Deepened Devotion: Established the Discipleship program (2018), weekly Adoration (2020), and an annual Eucharistic procession.
-
Community Impact: Expanded the March for Life into a city-wide pilgrimage involving multiple schools.
Lifelong Commitment
Having recently completed her Master’s in Theology from the Augustine Institute, Christine continues to serve as a “leaven in the world.” Her journey from a “most likely to be President” student to a dedicated spiritual leader is a testament to the power of saying “yes” to the Holy Spirit.
Congratulations, Christine, on this well-deserved honor!
