We aspire to embrace and support our future, current and alumni families, and the Omaha community.  We strive to share the good news of Skutt Catholic High School.

Goal 1:

Provide clear and compelling communication to convey our mission, vision, and priorities, through a variety of channels.

Provide clear and compelling communication to ensure that our school community is informed, engaged, and aligned with our mission, vision, and priorities. This involves developing a communication strategy that effectively conveys key messages and information to stakeholders, using a variety of channels such as newsletters, social media, websites, and public events. The communication should be timely, transparent, and relevant to the interests and needs of our audience, and it should reflect the values and priorities of our school community.

Goal 1 Objectives:

  • Document current communication practices, specifying intended audiences for each goal of communication. Include email, publications, social media, voice calls, texting, and miscellaneous print material.
    • Create a tracking spreadsheet for communication tasks (Completed)
    • Record all communication tasks associated with email, the Legacy Magazine, website, direct mail, etc. (Ongoing)
  • Perform a needs assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand communication strengths and weaknesses. Survey all constituents based on current communication methods to determine their effectiveness.
  • Research and explore other schools’ communication plans and methods to determine best practices for this area.
  • Adjust and enhance communication practices from the information gathered to develop a comprehensive communication and marketing plan for each constituent group, and review every quarter.

Goal 2:

Develop a comprehensive enrollment management process.

Develop a comprehensive enrollment management process that aims to create a system that will help the school attract and retain a diverse student body. The process will involve the continual evolution of marketing strategies and recruitment initiatives to attract prospective students, as well as the implementation of retention strategies to ensure that current students are satisfied with their experience and continue their education at the school. Additionally, the process will involve the support of financial assistance and scholarship programs to make Skutt Catholic more accessible to students who may not have the financial means to attend school. Creating a sustainable enrollment management process that supports the school’s mission and vision while ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education.

  • Document current admission practices, specifying intended audiences for each event or activity. Include events, activities, communications, and publications.
    • Create a tracking spreadsheet for admissions activities and events (Completed)
    • Record all tasks related to the 8th Grade Placement Exam, 6th-7th Grade Practice Exam, Open House, Freshman Registration, Shadow Process, Financial Assistance Awarding, Recruitment Visits, and Information Nights (Ongoing)
  • Perform a needs assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand admission strengths and weaknesses. Survey all constituents based on current admission methods to determine their effectiveness.
  • Research and explore other schools’ admission plans to determine best practices for this area.
  • Adjust and enhance admission practices from the information gathered to develop a comprehensive admission plan, and review every quarter.

Goal 3:

Continue to grow overall community engagement in the life of the school.

Increase the involvement and support of families, alumni, community members, and other stakeholders in the school’s activities and initiatives. Create meaningful opportunities for engagement that align with the school’s mission and values. The school should also foster open communication channels with the community, solicit feedback, and actively involve community members in decision-making processes to promote transparency and accountability. By strengthening the school’s relationships with the community, it will enhance its overall impact and create a more vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

    • Create a tracking spreadsheet for engagement activities (Completed)
    • Record all tasks related to engaging the community through events such as GrandHawks Day, Angel Flight, Homecoming Week, Memorial Mass, Saint Nicholas Night, Benefit the Birdie, SkyHawk Cup, Trivia Night, HawkWalk, SkyHawk Fund, SC Day of Giving, Reunion Weekend, Baccalaureate/Graduation, Sports and Activities, Alumni Basketball Tournament, and Hall of Fame (Ongoing)
  • Perform a needs assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand engagement strengths and weaknesses. Survey all constituents about current engagement methods to determine the effectiveness of these methods.
  • Research and explore other schools’ engagement plans to determine best practices for this area.
  • Adjust and enhance engagement practices from the information gathered to develop a comprehensive engagement plan, and review every quarter.

Goal 4:

Ensure enhanced, collaborative efforts between advancement and admissions.

Ensure enhanced, collaborative efforts between advancement and admissions that aims to strengthen the partnership between these two departments to better promote the school’s mission, vision, and priorities. This collaboration will facilitate more effective communication with potential students and their families and improve the overall experience during the admissions process. The partnership will also help to maximize fundraising efforts by identifying and engaging with potential donors who have a connection to the school.

    • Record all collaborative tasks related to Open House, Freshman Welcome Barbeque, Shadow Process, and Recruitment Visits (Ongoing)
  • Perform a needs assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand collaborative strengths and weaknesses. Survey and meet with all those involved internally with the admission processes to identify ideas on effectively increasing collaborative efforts.
  • Research and explore other schools’ organizational structure and collaboration efforts to determine best practices for this area.
  • Adjust and enhance efforts to develop a comprehensive collaboration plan between advancement and admissions, and review every quarter.
