Affordability & Sustainability

We aspire to be an attainable option for every family who desires a Skutt Catholic education for their child(ren).  This will include a clear vision and plan for the sustainability of our school and its facilities.

Goal 1:

Implement a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively conveys the value of a Skutt Catholic education to both prospective and current families, and emphasizes the school’s commitment to accessibility, affordability, and excellence for all families.

Enhance our comprehensive communication strategy that effectively communicates the value of a Skutt Catholic education to prospective and current families. This should emphasize the school’s commitment to accessibility, affordability, Catholic identity, and excellence for all families. The communication plan should utilize a variety of channels to reach different audiences, such as social media, email, newsletters, events, and other marketing materials. We will strive to ensure that all families are well-informed about the school’s programs, achievements, and opportunities, and provide a clear and compelling message that highlights the school’s unique value proposition. The communication plan should also seek to engage and involve families in the life of the school, building a sense of community and partnership between the school and its families.

Goal 1 Objectives:

  • Document financial assistance marketing and communication systems and strategies currently in place.
  • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand our marketing and communication outreach toward financial assistance strengths and weaknesses.
  • Research to determine best practices in the communication of value and financial assistance for families.
  • Adjust and enhance our financial assistance communication and marketing plans for families taking into account different stages of the enrollment process or history with Skutt Catholic
  • Develop & communicate additional opportunities for families to fund tuition opportunities including Grandparents who want to give the gift of education to their grandchildren

Goal 2:

Establish and implement a robust facility management system that includes a tracking mechanism for past maintenance projects, as well as a forecasting system for upcoming building and maintenance needs.

Create a comprehensive facility management system that efficiently tracks past maintenance projects and forecasts upcoming building and maintenance needs. The system should ensure timely repairs and upgrades to maintain a safe, healthy, and modern learning environment for our students and staff. This will include establishing clear protocols for facility management, such as regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs, as well as developing a budget and prioritization system for funding projects.

Goal 2 Objectives:

  • Document our current system of processes and procedures for maintenance requests, tracking, and forecasting as well as the vendors & contracts we have in place currently
  • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to understand what the school needs to have in place
  • Research best practices among other top private schools to help with documentation and forecasting of future expenses and needs
  • Adjust and enhance our maintenance tracking and forecasting system so anyone would be able to look through our systems and go beyond institutional knowledge.

Goal 3:

Enhance plans to reduce reliance on tuition and increase other revenue sources, including growing the endowment.

Reduce the reliance on tuition and increase other revenue sources to support the operations of the school. This could involve growing the school’s endowment, exploring alternative fundraising strategies, or increasing partnerships with local businesses or organizations. By diversifying revenue sources, the school can better withstand economic challenges and continue to provide high-quality education to students.

Goal 3 Objectives:

  • Document our current system of communication regarding the creation of endowments to sustain the school for 100 years into the future
  • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to determine what goals would need to be set to start to reduce the reliance on tuition revenue going into the future
  • Research best practices among other top private schools to help with communication of the value of setting up endowments for the school or for creating a legacy of giving including estate gifts for our biggest categories of costs
  • Incorporate in the curriculum a school-wide giving back to the community and the school initiative, that stresses the value and opportunities students have been given through a Skutt Catholic education.
  • Research strong summer auxiliary programs to bring in additional revenues to help fund the rest of the school’s mission, and see what could be viable options for the school.
