Coming Full Circle: Alumni Making a Difference as Faculty

Skutt Catholic High School boasts a rich tradition of academic excellence and a strong sense of community. This legacy is further enriched by the many accomplished alumni who return to their alma mater, bringing their unique experiences and expertise to inspire the next generation of SkyHawks. Seventeen are full-time faculty or staff and another 18 alumni serve as coaches and activity leaders.

Several shared about their roles and what they love about returning to Skutt Catholic:

Ali Cox ’11, a School Counselor and assistant volleyball coach, cherishes the opportunity to guide students on their personal journeys. “It is a true privilege to get to work so closely and walk alongside students on a personal level to help them develop as young adults and become the best version of themselves,” she shares.

Danielle Crotty ’19, a theology teacher and Campus Ministry staff member, finds joy in witnessing student faith grow. “My favorite part about working at Skutt is seeing the students come alive in their faith life,” she says. “There are a lot of students here who have a strong relationship with their faith.”

Christine French ’06, the Director of Campus Ministry, values the unique faith experiences she shares with students, such as retreats and service projects. “The cool faith experiences with students: March For Life, our Women’s retreat at the lake house, and just casual faith conversation in our Campus Ministry office,” are highlights for her.

Brian Peska ’14, a history teacher and wrestling coach, emphasizes the value of his own Skutt education. He shares, “I enjoy teaching at Skutt because it has given me an amazing opportunity to give back to the school that gave me so much. I also think having an understanding of the school culture and traditions has benefited me as a teacher and has helped me be a more effective educator and coach. I can tell you one thing, I wouldn’t want to teach anywhere else! Go Hawks!”

Amy Sauser ’00, an English teacher, sponsor for Poetry Out Loud, co-sponsor for Student Council and Yearbook, is inspired by the students’ enthusiasm and creativity. “I just love the students here at Skutt Catholic!” she shares. “I’ve never experienced classrooms filled with such enthusiastic, kind, creative, and driven students.”
